How do I change the user associated to my Jira Integration?

Issue

I've disabled or deleted the user associated to my Jira integration and now my Jira integration doesn't work.

Applies To

  • Jira Integration users

  • Trial and Paid Subscription Organizations

Symptoms

  • I can no longer create Jira Issues in the Sentry UI or Issues in Jira associated to Sentry.

Resolution

Jira specifically during the integration setup utilizes a user account; in order to to associate a new user you will need to remove and reinstall your Jira Integration in your Sentry Organization Settings -> Integrations -> Jira. You can follow our Jira integration document to complete this.

For best success in the future, Sentry organizations should choose to use either a personal user account, or instead opt to use a dedicated user for this integration in order to avoid future issues with the integration in the event of user removals or deactivations.
