What are the main differences between SaaS and Self-Hosted Sentry?

Updated over a month ago

Issue

I am interested in using Self-Hosted Sentry, and would like to know what the main differences with Hosted Sentry are.

Applies To

  • All SaaS Customers and Self-Hosted Users

Resolution

Self-hosted Sentry is available to be used for free, as Sentry is Open Source. If you self-host, you are not required to send data to our servers. We do have some telemetry associated with the install scripts, which can be opted-out of.

Self-hosted Sentry generally has feature parity with the cloud version of Sentry. Oftentimes, certain features that are in Beta or Early Access in the cloud version lag behind in the self-hosted version.

We do offer a hosted, single tenancy of Sentry, which is an additional cost to our Enterprise plans. Depending on your budget, this may be a potential solution. If you'd like to learn more, please contact our Sales team through this form.

Lastly, Sentry Support is only able to assist users on our hosted SaaS platform. Please refer to our article here for more information.

Some of the more technical differences can be found here.
