How Do I Change the Default Event Shown When Clicking Into Issues in Sentry?

Issue

When I click on an issue in Sentry, it does not always display the most recent event. I have to manually select or find the correct event from a list.

Symptoms

  • Clicking on an issue displays an older event instead of the most recent one.

  • The list of events shows the correct recent events, but the wrong event loads by default.

  • Users must manually select the latest event from the list to view the correct event details.

Resolution

The default event shown when clicking into an issue can be configured in your Personal User setting.

To fix:

  1. Access Personal User Settings:

  2. Change Default Event Display:

    • Under Preferences, locate the Default Issue Event setting.

    • Change the setting from 'Recommended' to Latest.

  3. Test the Change:

    • Click on an issue to verify that Sentry now displays the latest event.
