Changes to legacy Developer plans (September 2026)

We're updating legacy Developer plans to our current Developer plan.
This brings your account in line with Sentry's current products and gives you access to newer features. Your plan stays free.

What's changing

The main change is how tracing is measured. Your plan is moving from a monthly transaction quota to a monthly span quota. You’ll also be getting access to Logs and Metrics.

Monthly spans

Spans are a more granular, flexible way to measure tracing data, and they power Trace Explorer and other newer tools. In most cases a span quota gives you more tracing volume than the transaction quota it replaces, though the exact amount depends on your usage.

What stays the same

  • Your plan is still free. There's no charge, before or after this change.

  • Your other quotas are unchanged, errors, replays, attachments, cron monitors, and uptime monitors all stay exactly as they are.

  • You get access to new features like Logs and Metrics.

  • Your billing cycle doesn't change. Your monthly usage period keeps the same start and end dates.

  • Your current usage doesn't reset. Changing plans mid-cycle doesn't wipe or restart the usage you've already recorded this period.

What you need to do

Nothing. The change happens automatically on your effective date.

To see how much of your quota you're using, check your usage in Settings → Subscription.
