How is Seer billed and how do I predict costs?

Updated over a month ago

Issue

I need to understand Seer's pricing model so I can predict costs for my organization. How are charges calculated? What counts as a billable action?

Applies To

  • All customers using Seer

Resolution

Seer is currently billed at $40 per active contributor per month.

An active contributor is any user who opens 2 or more pull requests in a given month to a repository where Seer's code review or autofix automation is enabled. Bot accounts are currently excluded. The count resets at the end of each billing month.

To predict costs, count the number of developers who regularly open PRs to repositories with Seer features enabled, and multiply by $40.

To control costs:

  • Limit which repositories have code review or autofix enabled

  • Disable automation on projects that don't need it (see Project Settings > Seer)

  • Track current contributor counts on the Subscriptions page

Seer usage is billed separately and does not draw from your PAYG budget.
