Issue
Sentry currently offers different type of trials that can be confusing for customers, here's a summary on these.
Information
Free Business Plan Trial
All users, who register an account, start with a 14-day Business trial. During the trial, they can accept unlimited number of events. If they decide to subscribe to a plaid plan, the events they accepted during the trial won't be taken into consideration, what happens during the trial, stays within the trial.
We don't currently offer a free trial with Team-level features.
As soon as you upgrade, your trial will end and you will move into your new, paid billing cycle.
Business Feature Trial
If a customer who is on the Team plan decides to start a Business trial, they will use their current quota (so, they won't be able to accept unlimited events for free) but they will have access to the Business features.
Customers on the Business trial can also have a trial but doesn't make too much sense for them :)
This is the "base" trial, which we can start/extend and end from _admin.
Data Category Trials
We started offering recently a one-time trial for different event types:
We can allow, start, and stop these in _admin, but they are located at the bottom of the org's _admin page.
If someone is asking for a product trial extenstion, you wil need to click "allow" first before you can "start" the trial again.
β
We can extend these trials once for orgs to test out these features. Extenstons are not meant to solve quota exceeding situations.
Enterprise Trials
Enterprise Trials are reserved for Enterprise prospect orgs and should only be started and stopped as part of a sales discussion. Enterprise trials allow more than 20 users and give access to SSO features.
β
This is not something the support team handles. They must speak to sales.
